Pinnguaq Association supports the acquisition and application of digital skills beyond the direct delivery of programming. We work to facilitate mentorship and internship opportunities leading to networking and employment opportunities. In addition to this, we work to provide free technology tools (laptops and other devices) to individuals who may not otherwise have access to such tools.

Computers for Success Nunavut

Computers for Success Nunavut (CFSN) delivers hundreds of computers to communities across Nunavut every year, through the national program Computers for Success (CFS).

Computers for Success Nunavut (CFSN) is administered by Pinnguaq Association with support from the entire CFS network across Canada – as well as the Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) and Computers for Success Canada (CFSC). CFSN works to make computers available to any Nunavummiut or Nunavut-based organizations that require them, with a special focus on combining the work of the CFSN program with the work of Pinnguaq’s programming currently being developed in the territory.

Digital Skills for Youth

The Pinnguaq Association was selected by the Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) to act as a delivery organization for the Digital Skills for Youth (DS4Y) internship program for the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 fiscal years. The program is designed to help underemployed youth gain meaningful work experience and the digital skills needed to successfully transition and participate in the new digital economy.

DS4Y is part of the government’s Youth Employment Strategy and aligns with the Innovation and Skills Plan, a multi-year plan to make Canada a world leader in innovation and create well-paying jobs. Through this program underemployed post-secondary graduates aged 15–30—or any youth aged 15–30 in NU, NWT and YK—will be paired with small businesses or not-for-profit organizations to learn the in-demand digital and problem-solving skills required by today’s employer.

The Pinnguaq Association will recruit and support employers for internship placements throughout Nunavut, Northwest Territories, and Yukon and in South-Central Ontario. You can download more information on the program or easily apply with the forms below. Questions? Contact a Pinnguaq DS4Y team member by email at ds4y@pinnguaq.com.
