Starting Pay: $70,000 south (provinces), $105,000 in Nunavut (Additional allowances available for Nunavut hires based on multilingual (Inuktitut/English/French) and housing needs.

  • Designing and deploying interactive experiences, online learning modules, and maker kits to teach STEAM fundamentals to all ages.
  • Publishing the nationally-recognized Root & STEM magazine, create a space to explore diverse voices and stories in STEAM.
  • Operating makerspaces in Nunavut & Ontario providing hands-on access to tools, equipment, and training for inquisitive minds and makers.

The Delivery Division

The Delivery division is responsible for Pinnguaq Association’s in-field and online delivery staff.  This division is responsible for delivering high quality learning experiences to our community members. The Delivery Division is responsible for our in-person Makerspaces, our online learning experiences and our independent learning materials like STEAM kits. This division is responsible for maintaining and developing new partnerships for program delivery.


Planning and strategy

  • Set and direct our strategic plan for our growing delivery division
  • Scale our existing delivery model sustainably nation-wide
  • Set and track key metrics for the delivery division using Organizational OKRs as a guide
  • Develop strategies to ensure growth of our programs nation-wide
  • Set goals and execute plans to Increase learner reach with a target of 100,000+ learners and educators/year within 3 years
  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight on community engagement and marketing initiatives to grow our learner base

Organization and coordination

  • Overall people management for the organization’s largest and most widely distributed team
  • Identify and implement process improvements that will maximize output and minimize costs
  • Contribute to the development of and uphold organization policies and standards
  • Work closely with human resources to lead the Delivery Division with integrity and establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment
  • Lead the division through the organization’s performance management process and ensure update across teams to ensure high performance standards and employee engagement
  • Develop internal process of data collection and evaluation to ensure timely reporting and effective storytelling
  • Create, implement, revise and continually improve systems to track deliverables across funding agreements and projects; identify system deficiencies and recommend solutions to improve the program quality
  • Direct administration of the Delivery Division budget including budget planning, process oversight, adherence to organization finance controls and budget management to ensure < 5% variance quarter to quarter
  • Collaboration and liaison with all organization departments and divisions as the senior management point of contact for the Delivery Division

Direction and delegation

  • Ongoing and precise knowledge of all programs, projects and related deliverables
  • Efficient and effective management of a core team of managers
  • Scaling, combining and deploying teams in response to existing and emerging organizational deliverables and objectives
  • Overall supervisory responsibility and support for a diverse and fluctuating set of teams
  • Organization and effective delegation of work to appropriate teams and ongoing monitoring of progress
  • Leading the Delivery team to know and live the organization’s mission and mandate through all program delivery activities
  • Support and encourage relevant, appropriate and job specific training and ongoing professional development for Delivery Staff
  • Direct Delivery teams in offering new program types by facilitating cross-divisional work with Education, Productions, and other teams to support the successful training, support and launch of new programs

Attributes and Qualifications

Equal consideration will be given to equivalent/applicable non-academic skills and experiences of candidates.

  • Post-secondary education, or equivalent experiences in educational leadership, management studies, business development, project management or similar
  • Experience managing a multi-community/multi-regional department (10+ team members)
  • Experience directing managers or leads responsible for teams of full and part-time staff
  • Experience directing multiple overlapping and standalone projects within an overall divisional context (i.e. 1 team, multiple objectives)
  • Experience sustainably scaling a team
  • Experience managing a significant budget in accordance with organizational financial controls
  • 5+ years senior leadership role in an appropriate field
  • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, production, and employee management
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational process for maximum efficiency and productivity
  • Ability to streamline and implement new processes and roles that create speed, efficiency, and support rapidly shifting organizational demands
  • Strong working knowledge of STEAM Education field an asset
