Redstone Engineers: Intro to Computer Engineering with Minecraft – Virtual

Lindsay Makerspace & Online

87 Adelaide Street N, Lindsay ON

In this 4-part course, we’ll explore the fundamentals of computer engineering and how those concepts can be used to create all sorts of redstone contraptions in Minecraft. We’ll learn how transistors and logic gates work in real-world computers, then recreate those same devices with redstone to make everything from night-lights and elevators, to a basic counting machine. We’ll also share resources and links to some of the more complicated machines that people have made in Minecraft like number displays and working calculators, so you can try creating them yourself!

Classes will be Thursdays 6:00-7:30pm EST, from Feb. 3-24.

This free course is for youth ages 13-17. Participants are invited to join us virtually on Zoom.

All virtual participants will need a computer, laptop, or Chromebook with an internet connection to participate in this course – please note that some tablets are not compatible with Minecraft Education Edition. If you don’t have a compatible device or reliable internet connection, email us at so we can help ensure you can participate.
