Exploring the Global Arts World Online

Wednesday, June 2 at 10:30–12 p.m. EST • Facilitated by Mary McDonald and Cheyenne McNenly

The arts world has moved online over the past year which has exploded the potential to connect with audiences globally. In this workshop, we will explore how to participate in the online arts world and show you the tools you can use to present your work as well. We will take a virtual tour of what’s been happening online in arts genres from the visual to performance art.


Graphic Design with Canva

Wednesday, June 9 at 10:30–12 p.m. EST • Facilitated by Avi Chandrashekar Persaud and Cheyenne McNenly

Branding yourself and your practice with particular colours and styles can help your customers recognize and better understand who you are. In this workshop, participants will use the free graphic design tool, Canva, to create graphics to promote their work. They will look at settings to make sure their images are the best quality whether they’re used online or printed and also learn to use Canva to easily format photographs for online grant and exhibition applications.


Mobile Photography

Having eye-catching photos of your artwork and exhibitions is a great way to connect with your audience. This workshop will focus on photography using mobile devices. It covers device settings, tools and tips and tricks as well as editing apps to help you get the best out of your devices.


Creating a Website with WordPress

Wednesday, June 23 at 10:30-12 p.m. EST • Facilitated by Avi Chandrashekar Persaud and Cheyenne McNenly

Whether it’s a gallery looking for your contact information or a client wanting to see your latest artwork, your website is one of the best ways for them to get to know you and your practice. This introduction to the features of WordPress will look at how to use one of the most popular website management tools to create and edit a customized website. Participants will also learn about website hosting services to help them easily get their websites online.


Social Media Promotion for Artists and Artisans

Wednesday, June 30 at 10:30-12 p.m. EST • Facilitated by Mary McDonald and Cheyenne McNenly

Staying connected with your audience through social media is an important part of building a relationship with them. Participants in this workshop will learn foundational skills that will help them manage their social media channels successfully. They will explore what, when, and how to post on these channels, and how to discover, understand and connect with their audience.
