Pinnguaq is proud to announce the "Pangnirtung Code Club", the first session in the series of the "Nunavut Code Club". The club will run from February 17th to 21st (and select days after) introducing the youth of Pangnirtung to computer programming, making games and "how computers think". The sessions will feature:
- Guest instructor. A 9 year programmer from the EA Sport's NHL/SSX/NBA and UFC series'
- Daily "video conferences" with professionals working in the field.
- An introduction to game making and the chance to make your own game.
- Daily gaming sessions in which we will analyze what we're seeing and learn how to do it ourselves.
The sessions are open to all "youth" of Pangnirtung. No one will be turned away and we will do our best to accommodate all who want to be involved. It is mandatory that students know how to read and write and it is recommended that students should be adept at some basic math. A student should be able to solve this equation:
2 + a = 5
If you cannot (or cannot Google it to figure out how to solve it), you may fall too far behind and miss alot of the fun. Absolutely no prior experience with computers is required, or expected. We will accommodate allwho want to be involved, but we believe it will the most useful and fun for those that meet the above criteria.
If you are interested in participating you must sign up in advance. Please submit yours (or your child's) interest/age through:
